Problem is, after applying 1 book at a time, for Unbreaking III as 6th enchantment, it already wanted 34 levels of experience and when I tried to apply mending as the last one, it's suddenly "too expensive". Just remember that the above is JUST for 1 Sword with existing enchantment on and a Enchantment book with multiple enchantments on it. The issue here is primarily the enchantment cost, which is a cost applied based on the enchantments when you combine enchanted items in the anvil; for example, Smite IV adds 8 levels to the cost, and this cost will depend on the order the items are placed in the anvil, which is why it is too expensive one way but not the other.
